Jacqueline Raaymakers

DTCM, R.Ac., D.O.M.P.

Jacqueline is a certified practitioner in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Osteopathic Manual Therapy. With 14 years of clinical experience, she is licensed to practice in Nova Scotia as an active member of the Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Nova Scotia (ATCMANS) and the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths (NSAO).

Jacqueline graduated with a double major from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CITCM) in Calgary, Alberta, earning her designation as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) and a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.). After completing her program and passing the PAN-Canadian board examinations, she pursued an internship at the Mianyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Southwest China. There, she deepened her understanding of the principles and practice of Chinese medicine.

Driven by a desire to explore the interconnectedness of the body through different perspectives, Jacqueline pursued her studies further at the College of Osteopathic Studies (CEO) in Halifax. Upon completion of the five year program and defending her thesis, she earned her designation as an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner (D.O.M.P.).

Jacqueline’s treatment philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach, focusing on understanding each individual’s unique needs and providing personalized care. Both TCM and osteopathy share the principle of addressing the root cause of dysfunction, aiming to resolve the heart of the issue. When applicable, Jacqueline skillfully integrates a range of modalities into her practice, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, tuina, acupressure, joint mobilization, craniosacral, musculoskeletal and fascial work.

Expect a comprehensive health assessment and treatment plan, incorporating one or both of these effective and holistic approaches.  Jacqueline's commitment to patient-centred care make her a trusted provider for those seeking health solutions.

Jacqueline currently practices at Awase Acupuncture & Osteopathy and Honey & Ginger in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

On a more personal note, Jacqueline is a wife and mother, raising her family within the very community she proudly serves. Awase is located along the Salt Marsh Trail in Lawrencetown, where patients are welcomed by the serene natural surroundings that also embrace her home clinic.

When she’s not creating art projects with her children or pursuing ongoing training and learning opportunities, Jacqueline enjoys spending her downtime in nature. She might be camping with family and friends, relaxing and swimming at her favourite beach, playing soccer, or hiking and biking along nearby trails. These experiences create meaningful space to disconnect and reconnect. In turn, they help her cultivate a sense of balance, blending both joy and self-care.
